Camera maintenance 101:

How many of you clean your camera and do not know what else is there apart from the lens and body? Camera maintenance is much more than wiping your lenses and dusting the exteriors. 

In today’s article, we will discuss how we miss out on common camera maintenance techniques! Without further ado, let us see how to do camera maintenance better!

It is better to prevent than to pay an expensive bill! At times our cameras must be waterproof to fight the rain. However, they may not handle being sunk into an under the water shoot location. Camera maintenance is easy if you understand things with logic. 

Extreme conditions can be a problem for your camera care. High temperatures can cause them to deteriorate or catch fungus. So always have expert care for your camera maintenance once in a while. 

Sensor cleaning issues:




Most of the modern cameras have their own sensor cleaning system. If the image has one or two small tears it can be fixed. But major detailing is a tedious task. 

An automatic sensor will vibrate within the body of the camera and clean off the problems. If it still doest fix the marks, you need to move on with a professional camera maintenance personnel. 

Some important tips for camera maintenance: 



Use a thin brush:

A thin brush will help you clean off the dust from hard to reach places. The lens mount and inside the camera are where the dust gets collected and causes major harm.

Wipe the residue:

No matter how clean your camera looks, always wipe it down with a clean damp microfiber cloth. Always use highly concentrated alcohol to clean your camera!

Unmounted lens:

Lenses should always be kept with the caps on. Always clean them before and after they have been used. 

Camera bag:

 

 

Always clean up the camera bag before and after you have used it. The flaps, pockets, and compartments should be swept off thoroughly. 

Tripods:

This piece of equipment is the most abused in the dirt! Wipe the legs properly, and let them dry. Check up on the bolts if necessary. 

Camera filters:

These are very delicate and need to be your utmost priority for your camera maintenance routine. Use a blower to remove the dust off.
