Unless you try, you won’t make it happen.

One of the recent trends that we came across was abstract photography. You can either be exceptionally well at it or way too pathetic. However, is it very important to understand what it means?

What is abstract photography?

An intimidating genre that has the most freedom to explore your creativity and has no rules to abide by! Abstract photography is taking “a picture speaks a thousand words” on a whole different level.

There is never any direct explanation to what is being shown. The idea of perspective is a subject open for debate. You choose to believe what you wish to see.

Why is abstract photography the best genre to practice?

Abstract photography is one of the most inexpensive genres to take over. You may not buy expensive gear or travel to faraway locations. All you need to remember is the form, texture, and color of your whole shoot.

The CFT of abstract photography:

Color:

Keeping in mind what color palette you are choosing will help the audience to retain their attention and stick to all parts of your shot. One color and many shades maintain and balance the excitement and depth of your viewers.

Form:

The form includes the type of object that you choose. The shape and the composition are the main players of abstract photography.

Texture:

Texture is the key player in abstract photography that can break or make your audience. The contrast and confusion will attract the audience to form the illusion where they would feel the image to be real.

Top tips for abstract photography:

Strong shapes:

As we have known how shapes and lines add depth to your images, focusing on string shapes, sharp edges and crooked corners helps in bringing abstract photography to life.

Closeups:

Abstract photography is about what you choose to show and what your audience receives to perceive. Choosing one part of your subject and highlighting a new angle to focus on is a prime job of your genre.

Get rid of the background:

Abstract photography is focusing on one angle of your object rather than including a background. Backgrounds in such images ruin the whole perspective of the shoot.

Lights and reflections:

Textures are brought to life with the right light and reflections used. Soft light textures can be complemented by soft light, whereas shadows can be created to enhance edges and curves to increase the dramatic effect.

Whatever you choose to do, just experiment keeping these things in mind. And you are good to go. With this, we come to an end to our abstract photography tips.
