Why do we celebrate World Photography Day?
On this day we celebrate storytellers, the Havoc of clicking pictures and bombarding the world with creativity unseen ever before. Photographs are a huge element of conveying emotions and floating the stories through.
19th August is traced back to the year 1837 where we saw the first-ever photography process. The ‘Daguerreotype’ developed by Louis Daguerre and Joseph Niepce curated a free gift to the world. The art of photography.
To commemorate this, there are many different ways many different countries take part to celebrate this art. Like announcing competitions with various themes and taking them to an international level.

The competitions aren’t held to pick a winner but to make anyone and everyone be a part of the art actively every day of the year. From screening movies to arranging exhibitions, or carrying out a photo walk. France does it all to generate inspiration for the French!
