Things in motion subject can be explored in many ways. So many verities of category and object one can do with this, here below are the selected examples on the subject “things in motion” which I have explored, It was very difficult for me to choose just 10 images for this but I am keeping 13 images with various exploration,
1- Digital Flower
in this photograph what I have done is, it’s a giant wheel in the funfair, while it was rolling I kept longer shutter speed to capture its movement, in addition to that making it more abstract I did zoom bust while clicking and you will not believe I didn’t use tripod, I just took some support with column, with this one can play with various shutter speed for different graphics.
2- Not Yet Still
This is very similar examples as a digital flower but I did a lot of trial with shutter speed for capture the swing of the fan wings, not too less nor getting overlapped with each other, even though the background is nor great but it can be a good example
3- Rings
A giant wheel with longer shutter speed, to get this particular view I was standing very close the object and frame such a way to capture entire wheel.
4- Seagull
This is the example where an object (bird) is moving not easy to capture, I was in the boat and a bunch of seagulls were also flying with the boat, a light was good so I could keep shutter speed higher but the bird was also flying and boat was also waving with waves of the sea. The focus was just on its head and moving wings completes to show the motion,
5- Feeding the Little One
2nd example with bird photograph, this photograph is another example to show the fast birds in motion, this photograph was framed with its nest, which shows the stillness of the image and fast movements of the bird at the entry of the nest.
6- Dream
This was during rock band performance was tried to capture the cropped frame of its hand movement, lights were very low and performer was also jumping and moving, this kind of motion will take you back to that moment.
7- “Garba”
This photograph was an example of multiple movements of a lot of people, in the low light, here shutter speed was very long to capture longer time movement, and this will show a lot of layers of motions. Very important was this photograph was taken at the eye level rather than from the top.
8- Swing
A beach cricket very still images with just a bat swing to hit the ball. Everything is in action, the posture of both boys, captured the ball was also in the frame. Difficult was the light to get on faces of the boys because the sun was about the set against me.
9- Merry go round
This photograph was taken very quickly, here what I want to take in notice is that entire marry go round was moving fast still few metal pipes is still except the center pipe. 2 things to keep in mind one click when the metal pipes reach the longest axis and stay very close to object to getting maximum motion of outer edges of the circle.
10- Street at Night
This is one of the long shutter speed photos, this is at “Manek chowk” one of the oldest and popular night street food place. Here a road cuts across in the middle. The idea was trying to capture vehicular movement and human movement with and across the road.
