Garmin just introduced a new 360-degree camera with some very impressive specs and video resolutions. Introducing the VIRB 360, Garmin's first jump into the 360 camera world. The camera is priced at $799 in the US which is probably one of the most expensive 360 cameras out there. It boasts an industry leading 5.7k/30fps resolution, can be controlled by voice or via its mobile app. The most innovative feature is its data overlay on the 360 video using Augmented Reality, which displays the information from its sensors GPS, accelerometer, barometer, gyroscope and compass.

To start with here are a few,

  1. It is waterproof up to 10m and has a very rugged design for all outdoor activities.

  2. It records 5.7k videos at 30 fps with a 360-degree view.

  3. With a 4k Spherical Stabilisation for super steady shots.

  4. Garmin says it has 4 mics for a 360 sound.

  5. Something new from Garmin, it has built-in sensors that provide G-Metrix™ data which is overlayed in 360-degree augmented reality.

This is a little expensive 360 camera but with industry leading resolution and features it's definitely worth the money. Garmin has released this months ahead of GoPro Fusion which should be its closest competitor. Now we'll just have to wait and see how the adventure photography community reacts to this amazing camera.
